About gingko home furnishings

Gingko Home Furnishings was created as a solution for our many friends searching for well-designed, practical, quality home furnishings at an affordable price point.

Our Approach
Gingko's has interpreted timeless Asian aesthetics in a decidedly contemporary mode to create a unique line of furniture at home in many interiors.  Gingko's designs are are inspired by classical Asian forms interpreted with the modern home in mind. Designs for how we live today.  For example, inspirations found in imperial palaces, are rescaled in terms of size and decoration.  Where necessary, modern hardware is introduced to enhance functionality.  The result is a unique style that combines Asian design aesthetic, traditional craftsmanship, and contemporary sensibilities.

Our Products
Each of Gingko’s pieces are a product of top grade timber handcrafted by old world techniques. The result is a unique quality that increases in beauty over time. The entire collection is built with solid wood kiln-dried for stability. Pieces are constructed using mortise and tenon joints for increased stability and their ability to accommodate wood’s natural movement in different environments.

Every piece is an original. Individual workmanship and the organic quality of the wood itself may cause slight variation among items. Due to the hand-made nature of our items, dimensions are quoted it the nearest half-inch. Slight variations should be expected.

All pieces are hand finished using a 9-step process that requires multiple coats of hand-rubbed lacquers.  The Java and Natural finishes reveal the natural grain of the wood, whereas the Black and Red Lacquer are traditional finishes with a lustrous sheen.

why gingko???

No, it's not because our furniture is built of Gingko wood, but rather because the lore of the gingko tree inspires us....

The Ginkgo tree is a living fossil and the earliest leaf fossils date from 270 million years ago. It was rediscovered in 1691 in China and was brought to this country in the late 1700's. Individual trees may live as long as 3,000 years and the seeds and leaves are used in medicine throughout the world.
