Gibson Nesting Coffee Tables - Set of 2

The hand-forged steel legs on this table stand out for a few important reasons:

• They offer incredibly strong, stable support in a very thinly tapered leg which accentuates the shape and design of the Gibson Series.
• Hand Forged--this means they are literally beaten into shape from a round still rod.
• This forging process creates a very interesting, organic texture which evokes craggy surface of a powerful boulder. This is an interesting counterpoint to the sleek, rounded edges of the table top.

Walnut is prized in fine furniture for several interconnected reasons:

• Its heartwood ranges from rich chocolate brown to ash grey-black, a color that's both rare and deeply luxurious — most hardwoods are pale by comparison
• The grain is typically straight but often features beautiful figuring: curly, crotch, and burl patterns that are visually striking
• It has a natural luster that takes finishes exceptionally well. It's tight pores create a satin smooth touch
• Despite being hard and dense, walnut is ideal for creating refined shapes and designs. Adapting easily to fine, complex designs without tearing or splintering.
• It's strong and stable once dried, resisting warping and movement with seasonal humidity changes — critical for longevity in furniture
• Good dimensional stability means joints stay tight over decades

This is made of solid Walnut wood and is available in your choice of Classic Finish (darker) or Natural Finish (lighter).

We own and operate our wood working facility in China where this piece is made. We purchase Walnut wood from orchards that sell the trees when they are no longer producing nuts. The wood is kiln-dried and each piece is crafted by skilled carpenters. Gingko's Design Office and Warehouse is located in northern California.

The walnut table top is finished with protective coat of lacquer and then a natural wax is added for a rich, satin finish. This finish will be damaged by exposure to heat and liquid, so it is important to put coasters under drinks and wipe up any spills. If placed in direct sunlight, the wood's color will fade over time. The table top will benefit from regular dusting with a soft cloth and occasionally treating it with a high quality wood oil. The great thing about a solid wood table as opposed to a veneer or pressed wood table is that deep scratches or stains can be addressed by refinishing the table top.
